Leadership

Our Elders

Mike Hooper

Mike is Redemption Hill’s senior pastor. He has been in full-time ministry since 2002 and has served as a children’s pastor, private school Bible teacher, worship leader, youth pastor, College pastor, Missionary, and church planter. He and his wife, Antoinette, have five kids.

Joel Allardyce

Joel Allardyce grew up in Louisiana, but has lived in Texas for over half of his life, ever since he went to university at Texas A&M in College Station. He met his wife, Mariel, at A&M where they were both studying Engineering. In addition to being an elder at Redemption Hill, he also works as an Electrical and Computer Engineer, and occasional University lecturer, here in San Antonio. He loves the Lord, and especially loves learning more about the world He created and that we all live in. He also loves teaching about scripture, apologetics, and theology, but be warned that he'll probably, occasionally, throw in an exceptionally nerdy reference in any given sermon or teaching.

Our Deacons

Mitch Thompson

Mitch was born and raised in Northeast Arkansas, where he grew up in a small farm community (but didn’t live on a farm). A few years after high school, he joined the U.S. Air Force. Shortly after that, he married Lana (who did live on a farm). Together, they have lived in Italy, San Angelo, TX, Anchorage, AK, and finally San Antonio. (There was a year in there where Mitch went to S. Korea – alone!). He retired in June, 2003, after 20 years of service. He has since worked for several companies that provide services to the Air Force. They have had two children, Stephen and Mariah, who currently lives in Boston, MA. Mitch was first ordained as a deacon in 2000, at Northwest Hills Baptist Church, here in San Antonio. Mitch and Lana currently live in Bandera, TX.

Cesar Ramon

Cesar was born and raised in San Antonio and has lived here most of his life. He joined the US Army in 1996. After six years of active duty with the army, he returned to San Antonio. He has worked for the DOD since 2009. Cesar and wife Ione have been married since 2006 and have a son and daughter. He was saved by God’s grace in 2013. They have been part of Redemption Hill since its inception in 2014. Cesar was ordained as deacon in 2016.
